Skin cycling is the gym for your skin. It’s a way of applying your skincare on a four-night rotation to maximise the benefits for skin, leaving it clearer, smoother and firmer. Nights one and two are your active nights, and nights three and four your recovery nights – much like a gym regime.
Skin cycling typically involves using two key actives as well as hydration. On night one, you use glycolic acid or a similar exfoliant to exfoliate the skin, getting rid of build-up and dead skin. This ensures skin is clear and prepped for your next active and enhances its benefits. On night two, you use retinol, which is renowned for boosting collagen production for firmer skin as well as its ability to plump out fine lines and wrinkles and diminish pigmentation. On nights three and four – the non-active nights – you only use hydration to replenish skin. You then start the cycle again.
Everyone can benefit from skin cycling, but it’s particularly suited to blemish-prone, dull, congested and/or pigmented skin.
